quite a shocking result. and what leads me to believe the comic market is in a bubble.

Thanks guys - this sale is in the Nosto database. It will be fun to see where AF 15 lands next pricing update.

Hell, even comiclink is offering "investment advice". If something significant happens to make these people jump off the boat, prices will TANK!

This cracks me up. I see the "sellmycomics" guys trying to sell "investment" packages of "secret buy lists" for $100 a person. Ridiculous. "Hey, I have this great investment package. Buy the books I have for sale in my eBay store at super-high buy-it-now prices, because they are great investments, trust me.

This is a great idea Sugarman. Now that I realize you are a Premium Subscriber (based on you commenting you got the newsletter, which only goes out to Premium Subscribers), let's hammer this out. You guys drive the bus as I said in the newsletter and I like this idea a lot and like your initial pitch - your off-the-cuff list is a great start. I'll talk to Jim about this very soon...

Something like this was mentioned on CBCS forum just today, that someone should have a ticker of sorts. I think its a great idea!

With Shrewbeer and Sugarman giving thumbs up, I just wrote up a ticket in the Nosto issue tracking system to try and hash this out. PS, Shrewbeer, if you talk to Thanatos over on CBCS forum, tell him I implemented the idea he suggested and it's live on the Nosto site now.

Starman, that's very exciting. Thank you for working on this. i've seen some sort of price tracking years ago. but whoever was doing it stopped.

as for the AF 15 sale, wow. if it's just a one off .. we'll see .. if it's a trend... wow again.

Sugarman, i mentioned this to TommyJ a few weeks back. you guys might want to consider merging the CGC and CBCS price data. i think (and most people would agree) that the grading of CBCS is on par or better consistent wise than CGC. i know the industry standard is still CGC .. however, maybe for your pricing , it would help your modeling not to differentiate between the two companies. especially with more rare books that may have only a few sales in total.

just an idea....

Sugarman - if you or anyone else can confirm whether this sale really happened, please do. I have not been able to get into my ComicLink account to confirm...

Shrewbeer - not a huge deal, last month we implemented a change Thanatos requested on the CBCS forums, where he wanted to specify certification in My Lists at the top level (where you supply the "primary" info - issue number and grade).

But you guys should check out the Premium Subscriber newsletter mailed out yesterday and let me know what you think of this month's new feature
