Hello guys I am new to this site. I have just started to go thru my ciollection of old comics and have just scratched the surface. The first 2 boxes that I have gone thru and am cataloging and rated as objectively as possible. Most so far are only from 1983-1988 and were and still are never even cracked open. I literally had bought them and never read them- just put them away. I am excited to keep going and get to my older comics from the 1970's and 1960's. So far the ones that I have looked a are basically nearmint conditions -really- . My being a novice at this- would like some advice on how to figure out as close as I can the street value of these comics I own. I did see that you this site has a download copy of the overstreet conmic book price guide- for $30. Is this something worth while for me to purchase. and how far back does that price guide go in years? I have some pretty weird #1 issue comics that are mint like doc svage, flash gordon, black panther, the outsiders, the terminator, maelstrom,v for vendetta, animax, legend of aquaman, etc etc-- the list relly does go on and on. Any ideas???? Thank you

Hi there

I would recommend checking out the description on this site of the different comic book grades and apply them to your books as objectively as possible. From there, I would check nostomania and other sources to get a feel for what types of prices the books are getting without a professional grade being done on them. There are many people who dramatically increase the cost of the book on there is a certified grade attached to it and do not let those prices distract you from what your books are potentially worth.

Hi comicsman - Chuck pretty much covered it (thanks Chuck), but to answer the question about the Overstreet PDF download - yes, that does go back to the Golden Age and as Chuck inferred that would be a second source of data, always a good idea. If you do buy that, please click over from Nostomania, the company who handles processing for those (Heritage) are good people, and they will appreciate the referral.
