Raw grading labels Generation 2.0 & raw grade evaluator backer-sheets coming in 2016

Happy Holidays, my fellow Comic book collectors brothers and sisters,
Overall the response has been okay to the labels for raw grading. I have showcased the starter kit at a few local comic book shows inUpstate NY this past fall. I have gotten a lot of good feedback, and during the course of using the labels, I have redesigned them to be easier to use, sleeker, and simpler. These will be ready to post here, and I will offer some type of a discount to Nosto members when they are ready to view on my website sometime in Jan. 2016.

Also, I am in the finishing stages of designing another collector product tool, a raw grade evaluator sheet that slips between the backing board and the sleeve, a "backer-sheet" that you could check-off the grade of the comic book, keep track, of the value +/-, other info you deem important as a collector or dealer. The sheets are cut to size to fit all backing boards. The design reminds me of a back of a TOPPS baseball card! It's pretty neat looking! I also have comped-up two different versions of this design also. I will be posting those here first, then placing them on my website early in 2016.

Well that's it for now. Still checking antique shops, estate sales, garage sales, asking around for who has old comics. Still looking for Action Comics #1!

Hey Mario - I'm sure it's cool with you I edit so there's an actual link to your site.
This is a tough nut to crack - I think people really want this product, I know I was always looking for a solid system when I was collecting really heavily. You have to somehow deal with

Not obscuring the actual book much

Making sure nothing will stick to or snag on the book

Making it easy to read the info (do you have to pull the book completely out of the box and look at the back, etc.)

Making the product work with other standard products (bag and board sizes)

And of course reasonable cost

I just think it's great you are working on getting this product out on the market with the intent of helping collectors organize and manage their collections - same goal as Nosto

Starman, yes all valid concerns, and I am trying to resolve all of them. Let's answer your questions to make this more of a practical product:

• Not obscuring the actual book much
Current Answer: Works fine as is on golden age, and some silver age boards.
New Product Answer for 2016: The labels will be printed on the top and the color bar grade will "bleed" off. The label (sticker) will be 6.25" wide x.5 deep. So that's .25" wider and .125" less deeper. So now, the label, once pressed into place, will adhere to the top of the board, and will NOW NOT obscure Golden, Silver, up to Current titles resting on that particular backing board.

• Making sure nothing will stick to or snag on the book
Current Answer: The current design needs to be very carefully folded over the top of the board, and pressed into place.
New Product Answer for 2016: Because the new design layout, and the fact that it will be positioned on the top of the top of the backing board and it is .125" less in depth, minimizes snagging the book. Just press firmly on the board.

• Making it easy to read the info (do you have to pull the book completely out of the box and look at the back, etc.)
Current Answer: Depending how carefully lined-up the label-fold is on the top of the board. It's takes practice.
New Product Answer for 2016: Again, the new label dimensions and the layout redesign, makes the revised grading label is much easier to identify WITHOUT having to pull the book out of the box.

• Making the product work with other standard products (bag and board sizes)
Current Answer: Works fine as is on golden age, and some silver age boards.
New Product Answer for 2016: Fit like a glove. No muss-no fuss. Fits standard products (bag and board sizes).

• And of course reasonable cost
Current Answer: 90 labels for $9.95 + shipping.
New Product Answer for 2016: 100 label starter kits for $9.95 + shipping. Same price, now get 10 more labels. That quantity now matches standard product bag and board quantity sets of 100. Starter kits will be available for a range of Golden, Silver- up to Current age comics with a different ratio spread of grading level stickers for that era. You will be able to mix and match label sheet grades, and maximum sheet quantities for the minimum shipping amount based on maximum weight allowed for that amount weight.
