What is your most prized comic or comics that you own?

My favorite comic character has always been wolverine. I have every issue of the ongoing series, and just about every comic wolverine is in. I would have to say that my wolverine set would be my most prized part of my collection. As far as single issues go, I got wolverine origins #10, the 1 in 100 3rd claw variant cover. It is the first app. of wolverine's son. That is my favorite single issue. So what is your most prized comic that you own?

Still don't own hulk 181 though...

I have Amazing Spider-Man #33 but it is in poor condition so I would have to say the #40 that is in good condition. It might even make fine.......

My most prized comics are not those with the most street value, but those that mean the most to me - had the most influence on my. I've owned and sold some pricey books, but there's nothing like a great story or a great cover. Some favorites are: the Barry Smith run on Conan, the James Robinson run on Starman (big surprise, given my Nosto handle), Neil Gaiman's Sandman run, and Baron and Rude's Nexus. I also have a soft spot for Bronze Age from the early 1970s to around 1976.

I would have to say I think my personal favorite(s) is a tie between a nice copy of Terry and the Pirates (Four Color Vol 1 #9) and and almost complete (title page missing) copy of Pore Lil Mose. Both of which I snagged at estate auctions.

I have SEVERAL Roy Rogers Comics, Dale Evans, & Gene Autry Comics from 1948-1950 ALL are MINT or NEAR MINT. I'm trying to find a buyer for these, but seriously doubt I will find someone with that much money to buy them in that good of condition lol So i really have no Clue what to do with them.

I have a Tom Mix Ralstone giveawy 1940 #1 that is easily 9.0 or above. Got it from a guy for 200 bucks a coulpe years ago. I have never seen anything close to this good of a copy before. It is probably closer to a 9.4 it only has a 1/4 crease that does not break the color at all. You really can see it unless you look for it. I also have 7 copies of Vacation parade #1 1950 ranging from Vf to NM-

Nicole - if you really believe them to be that high grade, I have two suggestions:
1. First, check the Nosto grading guide page as another way to assess, both visually and by description.
2. Submit one of the best ones (one you think is MT) to on of the grading services, CGC or PGX.

But be warned - the odds of having an MT 10.0 are extremely low. To date there have been no Golden Age books graded this high.

Most valuable? Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane #70 (in VF+, at least) and Captain America #100 (around VF-)... My most prized? Probably my copy of The Complete Frank Miller Batman from Longmeadow Press. It's a hardcover, I know, but it's a damn beautiful hardcover. And the inside's not too shabby, either: Year One and The Dark Knight Returns in one volume? Can't beat it with a stick... Also, I recently acquired the collected Bone in HC, the leatherbound edition with the signed and numbered bookplate. Judging by past Ebay auctions, that one is actually worth more than the Lois or the Captain America. I gave up on collecting/keeping single issues long ago. The ones I prize now are those which fit on my bookcase, in plain view (as opposed to hidden away in some closet), for all the world to admire or mock. I'm also a lot more comfortable with loaning out a $20 TPB than I would be with a key single issue. Here's something to keep in mind, in that respect: if someone is more interested in reading your comic than they are in admiring or just looking at it, then chances are they are not going to treat it with the same reverence or care that you would hope for. For me, the TPBs and HCs alleviate a lot of the Fine China Syndrome that normally accompanied others' handling of my comics.
